LONDON!!!!
This trip was AMAZING!! I loved it. I had a wonderful time and I want to go back. We arrived by coach (charter bus) and just hung out in our room for the first night. Friday morning we met up with some of our friends who stayed in a hostel in London. We took a walking tour of London and got to see most of the sights. Our first stop was the British Museum. I think I could of spent all day in that place (thankfully we went back on Sat). We then walked to Piccadilly Circus and saw the "Times Square" of London, Next stop was Liechtensteiner Square but it was under construction. Then we saw the National Gallery and had lunch in a Crypt. I had my first taste of Mushy Peas (yuck) and really good fish and chips. After lunch we saw Trafalgar Square. Then it was off to the Big Ben and everything that is right on the river Thames. We stopped by Buckingham place, but the queen was not there :( We then hoped on the Tube (underground) and road to the Tower of London, and Tower Bridge. We did not get to see the crown jewels, but I want to go back to see them. At this point in time everyone in our group was really tired so we went back to the hotel and took a nap. Yes it was wonderful! We needed to get dinner so we checked out the restaurants around the hotel and found a really cheap pasta place. I had chicken curry :) with my pasta, and Bubbling water (very interesting). The next day (Sat) we took the Tube up to Abbey Road. It was so cool to cross the street where the Beatles recorded their music. We then went to Kings Cross to see Platform 9 and three quarters, but they moved it inside and you had to have a ticket to get in. So I am going back to see Kings Cross. We then went back to the British Museum and saw mummies and really cool European artifacts. In the evening we went to Regent Street and Window shopped at expensive stores. On Sunday we left London and went to Hampton Court Palace an saw the Palace there. Henry VIII lived there along with William and Mary (not at the same time). it was really cool to see the history there. Enjoy the Pictures :)

ReplyDeleteThat's often the way with London. No matter how much time you have there, you feel like you could have been there longer. It seems like you managed to get a lot done though, including the essential red phone box photograph.
One place I always make time for when I go to London is Covent Garden. Even at the expense of doing something new, which probably isn't a good thing but Covent Garden's my favourite place in London. It doesn't feel like I've been to the city unless I stop by. The December before last, my mum and I booked into London serviced apartments and we had a weekend in Covent Garden. It had such a lovely, Christmas Market-esque feeling and it was one of the few times where I came home from London feeling relaxed. (As much as I love the city, it does wear you out, no matter how much you enjoyed yourself.)
And on another note, I can't stand mushy peas either. Good fish and chips is one of life's pleasures but mushy peas is one of those things I could quite cheerfully live without.
